Haven't put anything public in here in quite some time, so here's a bit of an update bullet point style.

  • The aforementioned changes haven't gotten off to quite the start that I had hoped, which is no surprise, but all hope isn't lost.

  • This song is fucking rad.

  • My new apartment is finally starting to feel like home.

  • I submitted my first manuscript to a major scientific publication. This is a very big deal.

  • This week was the second time in my life when I learned that a friend of mine was actually quite the opposite.

  • Despite a few administrative hiccups, the Ghettobird season should get started about as well as hoped.

  • The Bears are going to have a really good season, I think. The verdict is still out on whether the Cubs can finish strong.

  • The American Museum of Natural History (yes, the same one from the movie "Night at the Museum") can kiss my ass. . . until their check arrives.

  • I believe the Rolling Stones said it best, you can't always get what you want. However, hopefully this year I can at least get what I need.

Woo hoo, I'm moving this weekend. I don't think it's such a burden that most people do...probably because I don't have as much stuff. It's one of many weird, transitional things I've gone through this summer. I would explain further what I mean by that, but that's what private entries are for. :) Anyways, things are weird, but good. Those changes I wrote about in the last entry start Monday, wish me luck!

11:50 pm - Change don't come at once - It's a wave building before it breaks
After using this journal for nothing more than viewing friends' journals for a long time now, I'm actually going to start posting in this thing again. I'm not sure how much of it will be public, but I figure if I'm taking the time to put private entries in here again, I could occasionally toss in some public stuff also, just for fun. I won't get into the specifics, but I've learned recently that its time for me to do some things slightly differently in order to get the most out of my time here in LA. So, I'll be using this journal to track the progress of the changes (improvements) that I'll be attempting in the coming weeks/months.
